FAQ

Q. WHO IS UNITED WKND FOR?

A. United WKND is for middle and high school students along with their youth pastors, small group leaders and host families. Students attend this weekend with their own church/youth group.

Q. WHERE IS UNITED WKND LOCATED?

A. United WKND is hosted at Lakewood Baptist Church. In addition to the 3 worship services, United WKND is an overnight event (Friday-Sunday) that takes place in the Host Homes of church members from the churches who attend. While United WKND is host at a church, this event is not a Lakewood specific event. United WKND is a multi-church event with churches from all over Hall County and beyond.

Q. WHAT ARE HOST HOMES?

A. Every church attending United WKND is responsible for recruiting their own Host Homes where students will spend the night on Friday and Saturday. These should be trusted families who are actively involved in your church who will open up their homes for teenagers to spend the night and held with meals/transportation. Another option is for students to spend the night at the church they are attending this event with. While we would love for host families to attend the worship sessions at United WKND, we are limited on space in the worship center. Only students, small group leaders and youth pastors will be able to attend the worship sessions but Host Families, parents and others can watch the livestream by CLICKING HERE.THis link will not be active until the first worship session.

Q. ARE THERE SMALL GROUPS?

A. Students should also be organized into small groups for Bible study during the weekend. Small Group leaders will stay in the host homes with the students they lead. Churches are also responsible for recruiting, training and background checking their own small group leaders.

Q. WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE?

A. United WKND begins on Friday afternoon/evening at the church where a student attends. Youth Pastors and volunteer leaders should gather with students on their church campus for check-in, dinner, instructions, etc. then head together to Lakewood. The rest of the weekend involves 3 different worship services (one Friday night, one Saturday morning and one Saturday evening) and 3 small group sessions in the Host Home. Each church can decide on several different Saturday afternoon options. For a detailed schedule, CLICK HERE

Q. WHAT IS THE COST?

A. This cost includes: 3 worship services, an interactive student book, t-shirt, Chick-Fil-A lunch on Saturday, promo materials and logistical support. Churches are responsible for taking care of their own transportation and meals.

Q. HOW DO I PAY?

A. Every student needs to register and pay with their own church attending United WKND. Churches need to collect these payments for their own students then make one big payment for spots at the early-bird rate or regular registration (or both). Churches can pay online by CLICKING HERE or by making a check payable to “Lakewood Baptist Church.”

Q. REFUNDS?

A. Once a church purchases spots for this event, there will not be any refunds. You will receive a wristband for each spot that you purchase but this can be given to another student from your group if one drops out.

Q. YOUTH PASTORS?

A. Each Youth Pastor (or point leader) is responsible for everyone in their group: students, leaders and host families. They are responsible for supervision of their students, counseling, recruiting leaders, transportation and other logistics. We encourage youth pastors NOT to lead a small group but rather be available to encourage students and coach leaders. We LOVE youth pastors so we have created a special area for them to hang out at United WKND called the Youth Pastor Green Room. This is a place where youth pastors can get a meal and relax for a few minutes in the middle of a busy weekend. In addition to food, we like to bless youth pastors with some goodies each year. Each year, we also have someone available for youth pastors who need encouragement, counseling and prayer.

only churches (youth pastors or church leaders) can register groups for United WKND. all students MUST register with a church that is attending.
